Mountains are soft!

After living for a bit at the coast, braving 90 degree heat, I am enjoying the soft breezes and cool mountain air. I took a few pics today that are cellphone quality, but the best I can do :-) I hope you like them and that you feel some relief from the heat like I do !

Magnificent Magnolija !

I was intrigued to find a new face on etsy.com in my absence and to truly love her work !! MagnolijaDRESS.etsy.com is a super shop with beautiful romantic fashions. The lovely white and cream styles would be awesome wedding attire and the shop is full of unique and amazing pieces. I especially loved the blue-green pieces. The photos are dreamlike and beautiful as is the model. I know you'll fall in love with MagnolijaDRESS !

Size: Perfect !

I ran  across these super clutches in the perfect size for dressy events...weddings, an evening out, anytime you want to carry the minimal bag and look perfect. I love the variety of fabrics and the classic styling. These would definitely be on a wish-list for me. To take a look, pop over to FIAZCO.etsy.com !

Wow! Has it been that long ?

I was dismayed to realize that I had posted so very long ago, but I've gotten here, gotten to work and made several new styles and am hoping to get going on posting soon. I haven't had regular internet access - and for picture loading, that really is an enormous obstacle. Travelling back and forth from my new home to my mountain home to finish work has been fun and sometimes exhausting, as well. I hope to post a few pics this week of the lovely scenery around here and maybe even dip my feet back into the etsy scene and give you some good recommends for the week. Stay posted ! I'll give you just a peek at some of the lovely stuff around me here.

Moving is disruptive to blogging !

Ah the perils of moving! Just a quick note to let you know that I'm without internet for a couple more weeks. I hope to be back to blogging soon and back to sewing, as well. Best of spring wishes to you !

Naturally Hand Repair Balm

I use my hands continually and have them in and out of water most of the day. Along about mid-winter I notice dryness that lotions have a hard time affecting. A recent find is helping the little cracks along the edges of my fingers. I found it while out at a Cracker Barrel restaurant and I loved the scent. It is made by the Upper Canada Soap company. The one I found to recommend is the Naturally Whipped Hand Repair Balm in Pressed Olive Avocado. It is made with all natural ingredients, a standard I try to adhere to in face and body products.  It has olive oil, avocado, extract, Shea Butter, Soy Oil and Aloe.  While at the website, I found more products to love and try out. If you hands are crying for some relief, see if this one will help your hands out !

Ninu is Perfection !

I confess to a carefully concealed weakness for shoes and bags. Ninu is an etsy shop that has bags that I completely adore. These are what I classify as 'perfect' bags. They are versatile, fun and cheerful and definitely worth the handmade cost. Moreover, they have that indefinable something, like Grace Kelly or Audrey Hepburn that makes them classic and romantic. You must, you must go see Ninu's shop and see if you agree !  www.ninu.etsy.com

Sew some Moe !

It's always inspiring to see what the cool Etsy designers have cooked up....a thousand ideas swim around in my mind. One designer whose work I really love is www.sewmoe.etsy.com. I love the cute inset bodices in so many of her designs and the fun combinations of fabrics that make dressing to go out for the day adventurous. Her shop has dresses, tops, and a variety of other unique pieces that will intrigue you.  I also love the focus on 'forgotten vintage pieces' that are reconstructed into new things to love. Go see sewmoe and see if you can't live without it !

Karrie Welborn Photography

I love finding amazing images. It always surprises me how different eyes can evoke feelings from the same objects with images. Photography always fascinates me because it sort of eludes me. I'd love to improve in this area. One of the photographers I love I ran into at Etsy.com. Karrie Welborn Photography has a wonderful etsy shop full of great photography. My favorite images she does seem to be all water images....shimmery light is a favorite theme of mine. Take a look at Karrie Welborn's Etsy shop and see what I mean.
